Cell Groups
|
What are Cell Groups? The word cell comes from biology not prison! As in the human body, cells are living, growing, building blocks of the whole body. Likewise at St Andrews each cell is made up of up to 14 people who meet to embody the being of what the church means. Why have groups? The church is for life, not just for Sunday. By meeting midweek we discuss the application of the bible so that we can try and put it into practice in our daily lives. This can only take place in small groups. Important aspects of the groups are sense of belonging, confidentiality, support and trust. What do cell groups do? The main principles and what we try to do is : Love God, Love our Neighbour and Love All Others (BIG task!) These principles are taken from Mark 12 and Matthew 28. "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength. The second is this: love you neighbour as yourself." Mk 12:30 - 31 "Therefore go and make deciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the father and of the son and of the holy spirit." Mt 28:19 What are the Cell Values? Jesus
